How Much Does a Custom Coffee Bag Cost?

内容目录

In the past, when coffee merchants sold coffee beans, they used ordinary unprinted packaging bags to package coffee beans. With the rise in consumption levels and the improvement of packaging and printing technology, coffee merchants are increasingly aware of the importance of custom coffee packaging for sales and brand enhancement.

Currently, many coffee merchants already have their own exclusive coffee bags, and manufacturers can meet very low MOQs. Maybe you are still hesitant to customize coffee bags because of the price, but this article will help you make sense of the factors that affect the price of customized coffee bags.

Five main factors affect the price of custom coffee bags:

1. The material

2. Printing process

3. The bag type

4. Accessories

5. Freight

Below we analyze these five influencing factors one by one:

The material of the coffee bag

Usually, the material structure of a coffee bag is divided into three layers, namely the inner layer, middle layer, and outer layer. After years of testing and market practice, we have concluded the most suitable material for each layer, as shown in the following table:

Inner LayerMiddle LayerOutside Layer
PEVMPET+Kraft paperMATTOPP
PEVMPETPET
PEALUV

From the table, we can see that the inner material of the coffee bag is made of PE (Polyethylene). There are three options for the middle layer: VMPET+Kraft paper, VMPET, and AL. There are also three options for the outer layer, including MATTOPP, PET, and UV. The difference in the material determines the price of the coffee bag. Later, we will introduce the materials and choices to you individually. If you would like this information immediately, please email us your request, and we will respond as soon as possible.

Printing process of coffee bags

The three most commonly used printing processes for food packaging are screen printing, gravure printing, and digital printing.

Screen printing

This method is normally suitable for customized packaging that uses one color. Usually, our coffee bags need at least two colors in their design.

Gravure printing

Gravure printing ensures the entire surface of the printing plate is full of ink before using a unique scraping mechanism to remove any ink that is not part of the graphic. From there, it is transferred to the surface of the substrate via high pressure to print the image.

The more colors used in a design, the higher the price will be. However, a bag is typically divided into five colors. If your coffee bags are between 1-5 colors, adding additional colors will come at a minimal cost. The same is true for 6-10 colors. Currently, gravure printing machines can print up to 10 colors, and the machine in our factory is the most advanced 10-color printing machine.

Gravure printing is suitable for coffee merchants with larger sizes and fewer styles. We recommend this option for MOQs of 5,000 pieces or more. It is also more cost-efficient than digital printing.

Digital printing

At present, there are many coffee merchants in the market who have multiple styles of coffee beans. The size of each coffee bag is not large, or the order quantity of each coffee bag is not large, so the cost of customizing the coffee bag is relatively high. But with the continuous improvement of digital printing technology in recent years, digital printing has proven to be the perfect solution.

Unlike gravure printing, digital printers only need to process the image once after being set up on a computer, and there is no need to worry if you have a small MOQ. Five hundred bags can be printed, and the price will not significantly change. Therefore, this method is especially suitable for coffee merchants who require small bags in multiple styles and have a low MOQ.

3. The bag type of coffee bag

As we mentioned before, three types of bags are commonly used for coffee packaging: organ bag, stand-up bag, and eight-side sealing bag. If you check the hem of the organ bag, you’ll notice it has two sides, while the hem of the stand-up bag usually has four sides, and the hem of the eight-side seal has eight sides.

From the edge pressing process, we can conclude that when the material, size, and other factors are the same, the price of the organ bag is the cheapest, followed by the stand-up bag. The eight-side seal is the most expensive option.

Accessories for coffee bags

The price of a coffee bag is also affected by its related accessories. Its accessories may include an exhaust valve, zipper, sealing strip, window, easy tear opening, hanging hole, and so on. The higher the quality of the material of the accessories, the higher the price will be. We usually recommend that customers choose high-quality accessories because the quality directly affects the freshness of coffee beans, and the freshness of coffee beans directly affects the taste of coffee.

Shipment

The next step is to consider the shipping cost of coffee bags to your country. The logistics and transportation methods are divided into air, sea, express, and land transportation. Our years of export experience show the most cost-effective option is sea freight. Freight is divided into FOB, CIF, DDU, and DDP. We have our own long-term cooperating freight forwarding company. We will provide customers with the most cost-effective shipping methods according to their needs.

The following table shows the approximate price range of our customized coffee bags, which is only for coffee merchants’ reference.
