FORMAT DECISIONS
The bottom gusset creates a stable retail presentation while keeping the pack lighter than rigid packaging. A project can be developed for whole bean or ground coffee and can combine a valve, resealable closure and dimensions suited to the intended fill.
The bottom gusset supports an upright pack and a clear front panel.
A lightweight pouch can support retail, storage and distribution needs.
Valve and closure choices can be planned around the coffee and packing process.
Smaller retail fills and larger coffee formats can use project-specific dimensions.
MATERIALS & BARRIER
The structure depends on the coffee, barrier requirement, sustainability direction, printing, appearance and destination-market requirements. The final structure is selected for the coffee, bag format, printing and destination-market requirements.
VALVES & CLOSURES
A one-way degassing valve can be planned for freshly roasted coffee, while a zipper can support reclosing after opening. The complete configuration depends on the coffee, material, filling process and customer use.
A one-way degassing valve can be used without a resealable zipper when the project does not require reclosing after opening.
A degassing valve and resealable zipper can be combined when both gas release and repeated opening are part of the pouch specification.
Not every project needs both features. Some stand-up pouch projects use a valve without a zipper, while others may use neither depending on the coffee, filling method and package specification.
PRINTING & FINISHING
Digital printing can suit projects needing flexibility across quantities or artwork versions. Gravure can suit production-focused programs and stable repeat artwork. The decision should follow the order plan, artwork and future repeat requirements.
HP Indigo 25K
Useful for projects that need flexible quantities or multiple artworks.
Up to 10 colors
A production option for established artwork and repeat programs, reviewed project by project.
Appearance and finishing process are reviewed separately. Matte or gloss appearances, foil stamping and soft-touch options may be discussed, but the production finish must be stated in the project specification.
SIZE PLANNING
Coffee fill weight alone does not determine final bag dimensions. Whole bean or ground coffee, density, roast profile, headspace, valve, zipper and gusset proportions all affect the finished pouch.

SUSTAINABLE DIRECTIONS
Available stand-up pouch structures include MDOPE / PE and mono-PP options such as MATOPP / PMP822 / CPP. Actual recyclability and acceptance depend on the complete pouch configuration and local collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure.
Explore Recyclable Coffee Bags →A White Kraft Paper / PLA-based structure is available for compostable stand-up pouches. Composting suitability depends on material certification, available facilities, collection systems and processing conditions.
